Counties offer competitive benefits and enriching career experiences, but nevertheless face a workforce shortage to the tune of 100,000 jobs nationwide. The NACo Workforce Network provides a platform to share resources, best practices and learning opportunities around human resources and benefits, working towards the shared goal of attracting and retaining a talented public service workforce.

The Workforce Network engages around three pillars:

  • Engagement: onboarding, culture, values, alignment, work-life fulfillment
  • Talent Management: talent acquisition and retention, compensation, benefits, career development, performance management, rewards and recognition, health and wealth management
  • Workforce Trends: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), demographics, succession planning, goals, job descriptions, policies, survey results

We encourage County Administrators, HR professionals and Benefits Professionals to join the Workforce Network. Membership is free.
