In 2019, it was discovered the absence of a business operational structure in the Nursing department was negatively impacting business processes including contract management, invoice payments and position requests. To address this, new executive Nursing Leadership developed a business operations and finance team to manage business processes, reports and educate Nursing Leadership. This team has evolved in the past 4 years and the work executed by this team has resulted in fruitful outcomes for the department, including cost savings in agency & invoices payments as well as decreased processing time for position requests. The education component of the program has equipped Nursing Leadership to make decisions in alignment of providing cost-effective patient care.
