During his inaugural remarks at the 2024 NACo Annual Conference, President James Gore outlined a bold presidential spotlight, “We…” The spotlight, inspired by this unique moment in time and the central role of counties as intergovernmental partners, focuses on three pillars:

  • Engagement and Collaboration
  • Research and Innovation
  • Capacity Building

“We have delivered, we do deliver, and we will continue to deliver, relentlessly for our communities.”

– NACo President James Gore

Engagement and Collaboration

Gathering the perspectives of all county leaders, making space for diverse voices in our membership, and strengthening our partnerships at the federal, state, local and tribal levels to advance our shared goals.

Research and Innovation

Assessing emerging trends, challenges and opportunities facing America’s counties, and exchanging best practices and innovative approaches that maximize county success.

Capacity Building

Delivering training and resources to county leaders and staff, facilitating knowledge sharing, and advocating for policies and resources that support our priorities.
