Join us this April in celebrating National County Government Month (NCGM) 2025! Since 1991, NACo has encouraged counties to actively promote county roles and responsibilities in serving residents. Through participating in NCGM, your county can:

  • Champion the county workforce
  • Boost civic engagement and strengthen connections between government and residents
  • Raise public awareness of programs and services provided to the community

Our participation toolkit is full of ideas, from press releases, to sample social posts, to educational resources and more. You will also find five suggested ways to celebrate National County Government Month:

  1. Highlight Why Counties Matter
  2. Encourage Civic Engagement
  3. Champion the County Workforce
