ABSTRACT: Beginning in June 2022 the Department of Health in partnership with the Department of Public Works set upon collecting wastewater from the county treatment plants in order to provide statistical analysis of the presence of COVID-19 in the population of Anne Arundel County. Wastewater samples are analyzed by Biobot Analytics and results of the presence of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). Samples are taken from 7 wastewater treatment plants managed by the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works. The Department of Health uses this data to provide information to the public and make decisions in responding to the needs associated with the disease.
