Arrowhead Regional Medical Center’s (ARMC) Telesitter Program is a remote monitoring tool designed to enhance patient safety and improve hospital staff efficiency. The program utilizes video surveillance and remote communication technology to allow trained staff to monitor patients remotely. The program was implemented to address patient safety, especially for patients at high risk for falls or other safety concerns, and to reduce the need for additional staff to provide in-person sitting services. The program provides constant surveillance of patients, which results in the ability for staff to quickly respond to any safety concerns, such as falls or changes in behavior, and to improve hospital efficiency by allowing staff to monitor multiple patients at once. The program also aims to increase flexibility by allowing staff to work remotely, reducing the need for additional staff during peak hours. Additionally, the program has been reported to positively impact the patient experience by providing constant monitoring and care.
