About Sakita Douglas

Sakita Douglas is an accomplished Human Resources (HR) executive with a distinguished career leading workforce transformation across multiple industries, including construction, healthcare, technology, oil and gas, and the public sector. With a deep expertise in aligning HR strategies with operational goals, she has consistently driven improvements in both employee engagement and customer satisfaction.


As Interim Chief People Officer for Harris County—the third-largest county in the United States—Sakita oversees HR operations for nearly 22,000 employees across more than 90 departments. She is recognized for her ability to foster meaningful connections with both senior leaders and employees, ensuring HR initiatives are both strategic and pragmatic. Her leadership is defined by agility, innovation, and a results-driven approach that enhances organizational effectiveness.


Sakita holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She is deeply committed to community service, serving on the executive board of Target Hunger and actively supporting the Houston Food Bank, the Texas Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (T-STEM) College Scholarship Program, and the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Houston SPCA).


A native of Houston, Sakita is passionate about giving back to her community. Outside of her professional commitments, she enjoys global travel, cycling, entertaining, cooking, and karaoke.
