About Robert Barr
Robert is the Deputy City Manager for the City and Borough of Juneau. He oversees a variety of City/County operations, including police, fire/EMS, parks and recreation, libraries, IT, HR, and emergency management. Robert is responsible the policy work behind Juneau’s childcare programs, and he serves on the Alaska Governor’s childcare task force. Prior to his current role, Robert led the Borough’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and served as the borough’s interim Engineering and Public Works Director and Library Director. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and classics from William Jewell College and a master’s in library science from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
