About
Rick Piepho serves as the County Clerk and Election Officer for Harvey County, Kansas. In this role, he is responsible for a wide array of administrative and electoral duties that are critical to the efficient functioning of the county government.
Piepho began working in the Harvey County Clerk and Election Office in 2011. He became County Clerk in 2014 and was re-elected to the position in 2016 and 2020. Previously, he managed a printing and direct mail company for 25 years. Piepho has lived in Harvey County since 1986. He is a Pittsburg State University graduate.
In his capacity as the Election Officer, Rick oversees all aspects of the electoral process in Harvey County. This includes maintaining voter registrations, accepting filings for public office, coordinating elections, and certifying election results. His dedication to the integrity and efficiency of the electoral process has been recognized through his role as the Kansas County Clerks and Election Officials Association (KCCEOA) Elections Committee Chair, and he has even testified in the Kansas state legislature regarding election administration.
Piepho has earned CERA (Certified Elections/Registration Administrator) status from the National Association of Election Officials. He is also a KCCEOA Certified Master County Clerk, and is one of the two local Kansas election officers who serve on the Local Leadership Council advisory board of the Election Assistance Commission (EAC).
