About

Keara Mendez is an experienced advocate who has worked for over a decade in election administration and civic engagement. Currently serving as the Director of Advocacy for the Center for Tech and Civic Life, Keara leads the award-winning Election Infrastructure Initiative, a nonpartisan campaign to fully fund local elections offices. Her commitment to fostering civic engagement and advancing election integrity is evident in her successful co-founding of projects such as Election Hero Day, the Civic Responsibility Project, and Democracy is Good for Business.

With a certificate in Strategic Corporate Research from Cornell's ILR school, Keara brings a strategic and research-oriented approach to her work. Leading a dedicated team of organizers and experts, her team supported 43 state and regional associations of elections administrators last year alone.

Prior to her current role, Keara held key positions such as Political Director for the Colorado AFL-CIO and Denver Program Manager for New Era Colorado. She has also consulted on successful campaigns, collaborating with organizations like the Democracy Fund, the Civic Alliance, and the Ash Center at Harvard. She lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband and dog, and was born & raised in Bergen County, NJ.
