Kathleen Metzger

Kathleen Metzger has over 27 years of federal service, of which the majority has been with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.  

She currently serves as the Deputy Director for the Veterans Transportation Program (VTP) within the Veterans Health Administration.  

Metzger’s held numerous leadership positions including a VTP Regional Coordinator, Chief of Health Administration Services at the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System and Acting Business Office Chief at the Washington DC VA Medical Center.  

She’s also served within the Veterans Benefits Administration at the Sioux Falls Regional Office as a supervisor of the Veterans Service Center. In addition, she was a Change Management Agent and Management Analyst during her time with VBA as well.  

Metzger is a proud Veteran of the South Dakota Air National Guard in which she served 11 years.  

She earned her Yellow Belt Certification in Lean/Six Sigma and earned an associate degree in Personnel Management from the Community College of the Air Force.
