John Proffitt has led and developed technology projects, teams, and services for 27 years in a variety of industries including education, digital banking, consulting, construction, and federal contracting. Over the past decade he has focused exclusively on purpose-driven organizations in healthcare, public media, and local government.

 

John combines OODA loop iterative strategy with Lean, Kanban, and Agile frameworks to deliver value for customers, and he uses servant leadership practices to build team cultures.

 

After a successful infrastructure team turnaround and expansion during the COVID-19 pandemic, John launched Franklin County's first digital services team -- the GX Foundry -- focused on user-centered, digital-first experiences to build trust in government intentions and competence.

  •      Holds multiple certifications including Kanban Management Professional (KMP), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), and Security+
  •     Member, Chief Digital Service Officers (CDSO) advisory group for the Digital Service Network at Georgetown University’s Beeck Center for Social Impact + Innovation
  •     Formal education includes an M.A. in English Education, a double-major B.S. in English and Earth Science, and a minor in Children’s Literature
  •     Broad media production experience including print, CD-ROM, radio, TV, streaming, podcasting, news, and social media.

 

In his free time John volunteers as a business news program host for Voicecorps, central Ohio's reading service for the blind and reading -impaired.
