Ben Gilsdorf

Ben is NACo’s associate legislative director for transportation. In this role, he advocates for federal transportation policies that properly understand counties’ roles as major owners and operators of roads, bridges, public transit systems, ports and airports. Ben also works to assist Great Lakes counties in navigating their unique challenges and opportunities through NACo’s Great Lakes Forum.

Prior to joining NACo, Ben worked for Senator Bob Casey (D-Pa.) on transportation and infrastructure issues, including overseeing implementation of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Amherst College in History and Russian Studies.
