About Tanya Ange

County Administrator Tanya Ange has served as the chief executive of the Washington County organization since August 2020. Under the county’s home-rule charter, Ms. Ange is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the county organization, one of three that make up the Portland metropolitan area. Washington County serves a growing and diverse population of 606,378 people – the second largest among Oregon’s 36 counties – with a staff of 2,368 full-time equivalent positions and an annual budget of $1.6 billion. Washington County’s mission is to provide excellent and cost-effective services that support healthy, peaceful, safe and sustainable communities and encourage meaningful participation in community activities and county governance. Ms. Ange is a credentialed manager through the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and has earned a master’s degree in Urban Studies Management in 2006 and a bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services in 2000, both at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She currently serves as the Vice President of the Oregon Association of County Administrators and a Board Member for the National Association of County Administrators.  Ms. Ange is the incoming President Elect for the International City County Management Association
