About Mike Ablowich
Mike has worked in public financial management for nearly 30 years, as a state treasurer, state budget director, and technical advisor to several national treasuries in developing and transition countries.
Mike leads our relationship-management team and is also responsible for new client onboarding and their success at three+one. Additionally, he serves a number of cashVest® clients including Westchester and Orange Counties in New York; Washington County, Tennessee; and the Suffolk County Water Authority in New York.
As state treasurer, and in prior leadership roles in the New Hampshire State Treasury, Mike led a variety of projects to integrate different banking products and reporting services into the daily operations of the treasury. Additionally, he developed and managed RFPs for financial advisory, banking and trustee, and paying-agent services for the State of New Hampshire. Prior to joining 3+1, Mike worked for the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Technical Assistance supporting a variety of countries on strengthening public financial management, transparency, and treasury operations.
Mike earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from Boston University. In 2005, he earned the “Tanya Gritz Award for Excellence” in Debt Management by the State Debt Management Network and the “Jesse Unruh Award.” This latter accolade, awarded by the National Association of State Treasurers, recognizes the outstanding service of a state treasurer.
A military veteran, Mike is proud to have served his country as an Army infantry officer.
