About Michael Young
Michael Young is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Esri products. Leading Esri’s Software Security and Privacy team, he works collaboratively with business and technical leaders, both within the company and with customers, to continuously advance security and privacy of geospatial solutions. Young was awarded as a Computerworld 2017 Premier 100 Technology Leader based on leading key security advancements and FedRAMP compliance efforts at Esri. An elected Esri Fellow, Young holds an MBA with Information Technology concentration from the University of Redlands, an engineering undergraduate degree, and has over 20 years of experience within information security. His industry certifications include Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), among others.
Before leading Esri’s information security and privacy efforts, Young was Esri’s principle architect for large-scale geospatial service-oriented architecture implementations throughout the US and around the world, including establishing a DHS blueprint for advancing geospatial disaster information sharing through regional and state hubs in the early 2000’s, to NATO’s Core GIS, to Indonesia’s Spatial Data Infrastructure
