About Kristina Kaupa
Kristina Kaupa is the Director of Policy for the Cook County Justice Advisory Council where she leads a team of legislative and policy analysts in research, development, and implementation of Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle’s criminal justice reform initiatives. Before joining the JAC, Kaupa served as Policy Advisor to Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx where she spearheaded the office’s work to automatically clear tens of thousands of low-level cannabis convictions. From Fargo, North Dakota to Detroit, Michigan, Chicago and now Cook County, Illinois, Kristina has spent her career in local government developing and implementing evidence-based, community-informed, and data-driven policies that work to build more equitable communities. Kaupa holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Environmental Policy from Concordia College, Moorhead
