About John L. Howard, Jr.
John Howard is a Director of Government Affairs for Dell Technologies in Round Rock, Texas. He helps to develop public policy positions with Dell’s business leaders and advocate for them with government officials and to develop and maintain strong relationships with government and community leaders. He previously held senior policy positions in the White House and Texas Governor’s Office on environmental, natural resource and energy issues, and has worked for law firms in Washington, D.C., and Austin. He has served as Chair of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s National Advisory Council on Environmental Policy and Technology, the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors, Baylor University’s College of Arts & Sciences’ Board of Advocates, the University of Texas’ Environmental Science Institute’s Advisory Council, and the Boy Scouts Capitol Area Council’s STEM Corporate Engagement Council, and as President of Keep Texas Beautiful and St. Martin’s Lutheran Church. He currently serves on the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce Board, the University of Texas Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life's Advisory Council and the Austin Area Research Organization. The Austin Chamber of Commerce named John their 2019 Volunteer of the Year for Federal Advocacy. John is a proud graduate of the University of Texas School of Law and Baylor University, and in 2003 he was named an Outstanding Young Baylor Alumnus. He is married to Ann Gill Howard, the Travis County Commissioner for Precinct 3, and they are proud parents of three grown children and one grandchild
