About Jean Workman

Jean Workman has worked in the field of Public Health for over 30 years. She began her career in HIV prevention and has been dedicated to working in maternal and child health for most of her career.  She worked in teen pregnancy prevention for 25 years, writing and facilitating several curricula that were nationally sold.  She came back to Guilford County Public Health in 2019 to lead the endeavors of Every Baby Guilford.  She relaunched the program with a new name, mission, and vision with a community led collective action strategic planning process.  Jean shares her enthusiasm for inspiring competence, confidence and connectedness with individuals in the community to come together with a sense of urgency for creating systems level change. Jean has a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health Education and a Master of Arts degree in Nonprofit Management.  In her personal time, she enjoys hanging out with her two college-aged children and partner in life.
