About Hon. Eddie Jones
Chairman Emeritus Eddie S. Jones, Jr. was elected to his second term as Shelby County Commissioner for District 11 on August 2, 2018. District 11 is comprised of sections of Fox Meadows, Hickory Hill, Oakhaven, Parkway Village, and Whitehaven. Commissioner Jones is a lifelong resident of Shelby County and a proud graduate of Hamilton High School. He attended Shelby State Community College, majoring in Criminal Justice and Tusculum College, where he studied Business. Commissioner Jones works as a City of Memphis Code Enforcement Supervisor and is a former police officer with the Memphis Police Department where he served on the Tact Unit. Commissioner Jones has been a dedicated employee of the City of Memphis for over 20 years. He is a graduate of the 2013 City of Memphis Emerging Leaders Institute Certification. He is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, Teamsters National Black Caucus (TNBC), Shelby County Democratic Executive Committee, District 85 House Chair, and was a 2008 Democratic Pledge Delegate – 9th Congressional District, President Obama.
