About Gary Lee
Mr. Gary N. Lee currently serves as the Director of Administration, who was appointed by Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper. He is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations for the county, which includes overseeing ten (10) departments and approximately 800 employees with an annual budget of $488 million.
Mr. Lee was born and raised in Erie, Pa. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in graphics communications technology from California University of PA, and a Master of Business (MBA) degree from Gannon University.
Mr. Lee was appointed by Governor Tom Ridge to the Director of the Bureau of Contract Administration and Business Development, which managed the state contracting processes and awards to minority and women owned businesses. In addition, he served as the Director of Bureau of Professional Selections and Administrative Services, and was responsible for policies and procedures as it related to 400 design and construction projects with an annual budget of $1.5 billion. He is the former President of GNL Consulting Group, which provided business and strategic planning consulting to small businesses.
Mr. Lee believes in investing in the youth of our community. He mentors young men and women in the community by providing leadership in career, financial and personal development. Mr. Lee has been recognized as one of America’s Most Outstanding Men for outstanding, superior leadership ability and exceptional service to the community.
