About Dr. Kathleen Burke
Dr. Kathleen Burke is the Coordinator of Substance Use Initiatives in the Behavioral Health Division of the Will County Health Department. In this role, Dr. Burke manages the Illinois Drug Overdose Prevention Project in Will County and serves as a member of the Illinois Opioid Crisis Response Advisory Council. Dr. Burke offers naloxone training throughout Will County to prevent overdose deaths. Dr. Burke directs the Recovery Coach/Peer Support Specialist Workforce Development Project and the Naloxone Rapid Response Program. She is a member of the Governors State University faculty and the Addictions Studies and Behavioral Health Advisory Committee, the Will County Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) Collaborative Executive Committee and Behavioral Health Action Team Chair, Stepping Stones Treatment Center Board of Directors, and Will Grundy HLM Recovery Oriented System of Care Council Member. Dr Burke holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Planning and Administration degree from Penn State University, a Master of Science degree in Health Systems Management from Rush University and a PhD in Policy Studies in Urban Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
