About Donovan Dumire
Donovan L. Dumire, Manager of Lane County Adult Parole and Probation since 2013, oversees operations and leads the division’s efforts to improve the quality of life in Lane County, Oregon by effectively responding to risk, need, and promoting positive change. Donovan was blessed to begin his career in a progressive county, committed to evidence based practices, in 1997. Within the noble profession of Parole and Probation, Donovan has humbly served as an officer, supervisor and manager.
Donovan wholeheartedly believes that a balanced approach of both accountability and rehabilitation promotes lasting community safety. Donovan strives to ensure everyone is treated as individuals; worthy of respect, dignity, courtesy, fairness and understanding. The use of validated risk, need and responsivity (barrier) assessments honors this individuality, drives effective case planning and delivers positive outcomes.
Donovan holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science from Portland State University and has committed himself as an ongoing student of evidence based practices within his profession. As an officer, Donovan specialized in working with individuals convicted of sexual-related offenses, gang affiliation and clientele suffering from severe mental illness. As a leader, Donovan is committed to continuous quality improvement and aspires to push the evidence based envelope within his profession.
