About Deborah Lathen
Deborah Lathen is a nationally recognized leader and expert on media, telecommunications, regulatory, and public policy. She has served as a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of BT (British Telecom) and has advised a wide range of companies on telecommunications and other policy and regulatory matters. Deborah was appointed to a Senior Executive position in the Clinton Administration as Chief of the Cable Services Bureau, Federal Communications Commission, where she led a bureau of 112 lawyers, economists, accountants, engineers, and economists, in setting policies and crafting regulations covering cable, satellite TV, internet, and equipment providers. She had principal responsibility for the review of some of the largest US telecom mergers to date: AOL/Time Warner ($108 billion), AT&T Media One ($58 billion), and ATT/TCI ($50 billion). In 2001, she founded Lathen Consulting, LLC where she advises clients on telecommunications regulatory and policy matters. She is a graduate of Cornell University, Magna Cum Laude, with distinctions in all subjects, and the Harvard Law School. She is a member of the California Bar.
