Chevon Kothari, MSW

Chevon Kothari, MSW, is the Director of Health and Human Services in Mariposa County in California. Prior to this past year, when her Department consolidated with two other Departments, Chevon served as the Human Services Director for Mariposa County since 2014. From 2003-2014, Chevon was the Executive Director for a non-profit in Mariposa County, Alliance for Community Transformations, which focused on domestic violence services, rape crisis services, alcohol and drug recovery, youth services, and offender services. She had a brief break during that time to care for her newborn son, while serving as a consultant doing grant writing, needs assessments, and strategic planning for government and non-profit organizations. She has worked for two other Counties, one in Oregon providing mental health services for 4 years and another in California designing and overseeing prevention programs.  Chevon has her Masters Degree in Social Work and her Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. Chevon lives with her husband and son just outside Yosemite National Park in Mariposa County, California.
