Brian Paro

Brian is the State Programs Director at the American Flood Coalition, where he advances policy solutions and builds AFC’s strength at the state and local levels.

Brian joined AFC after nearly seven years of serving at the staff level in the Minnesota Legislature. In his most recent role as Senate Legislative Director, Brian shaped policy and guided the legislative process in a bipartisan political environment. Prior to his time in Minnesota, he spent four years at a government relations consulting firm in the Washington, D.C., area, where he assisted businesses in strategic engagement with Congress and the executive branch.

Brian holds bachelor’s degrees in political science and journalism & mass communication from the University of Iowa.
