Key Takeaways

For county officials used to seeing who they’re dealing with, approaching a federal office can seem like a leap of faith. Lost in a comparably larger bureaucracy, emails, applications and phone calls can seem almost abstract, with a changing cast of characters often located far away.

But at the NACo Legislative Conference, attendees could put faces with names and names with the agencies that could help their counties advance their work during the Federal Agency Expo. And the federal representatives could help answer some questions about how their offices could work together with counties.

A handful of county officials and a federal exhibitor talked on the County News Podcast about the connections they hoped to make and what they hoped to learn.
