About Julia Cortina
Julia is NACo's associate legislative director for human services and education. She also serves as the staff liaison to NACo's Immigration Reform Task Force. Her responsibilities include advocating for county priorities, analyzing legislation and regulatory activities, and planning and executing NACo conferences and events.
Prior to joining NACo, Julia held internships with the Office of Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START), and the Immigration Law Office of Alicia R. Kinsman. Julia holds a dual bachelor's degree in government affairs and economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
