Danny Melgoza

Danny Melgoza is NACo's Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Executive Director, where he oversees the organization’s daily operations, including finance, HR, talent management, IT, facility management and subleases. He also leads efforts to align NACo’s strategic objectives with its key results. A key part of his role involves cultivating a thriving culture by translating NACo’s values into ONE NACo behaviors for improved performance and wellbeing.

Before joining NACo, Danny spent 14 years in public policy and management roles in San Diego County, Calif., most recently serving as Chief of Staff to County Supervisor Greg Cox. His professional background includes a blend of both private and public sector experience having worked at IBM, Xerox Corporation, ALDI Foods and the City of Seattle. Originally from Kansas City, Mo., Danny now lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife Monica and their two young children.
