Transportation

NACo can help counties address changing transportation needs. With support from the U.S. Department of Transportation, NACo’s transportation program offers technical assistance to counties regarding rural transportation planning and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).  Through educational workshops and peer-to-peer training, NACo, in partnership with the National Association of Development Organizations, is helping local officials in non-metropolitan areas learn how to participate most effectively in the statewide transportation planning process.  NACo's ITS project provides information to county officials through research papers and articles on the latest developments in ITS technologies and how other county and regional entities have established and maintained an ITS program.

For more information on NACo's transportation services, please contact James Davenport at (202) 661-8807 jdavenpo@naco.org.
